 Feb 24 - Deadline Extended! Enter the International Design Excellence Awards' (IDEA) 2012 social impact design competition. This preeminent competition is in its 32nd year and open to everyone. Good luck! |
 Feb Deadline - Drop by Drop Competition Design a newspaper ad to raise awareness on water preservation. This is part of the UN's "The Future We Want" campaign. The winning entry will be used for the Rio+ 20 UN Conference on Sustain-able Development in June. The competition is open to professionals and non-professionals in the 48 European countries. |
This year marks the 8th annual event focused on renewable energy from waste sources. The event will take place in London, UK. |
 Feb 28 Deadline - Design Fellowship Six fellowships are available to work in India on sustainable design projects. This in an international fellowship requiring lots of creativity and stamina. Watch video for program highlights. |

The French luxury goods maker sponsors a product design competition for young designers. 2011's competition theme "Heat, Me Heat, Re-Heat" focused on energy efficiency and sustainable product design.  Your Street Challenge This is a neat event sponsored by Design Indaba. Local designers in South Africa are asked to develop viable solutions to revivify any street in Gauteng.
